Breakage is a thing that everyone with hair faces. Though you need to know what normal and irregular breakage is. If you loose hair when combing it’s normal, but breakage when not doing anything. Or a higher breakage rate may be a problem. Here is everything you need to know about how to prevent irregular breakage.
I am going to share my tips with you and there will be a chart below for you to check out. So let’s get on in!➡️➡️➡️➡️
My number one tip is wash your hair, detangle, moisturize. ❤️Whatever your routine is. Braid it up and put it away. This prevents breakage. Since your hands are out if your hair. My second tip is to put your hair away at night. 🧡By protecting your hair you limit breakage. I have a previous post in the hair growth series part two if you want to learn more. My third tip is to do simple protective styles.💛I mean low maintenance yet protective. You can do box braids or intricate styles, but those can do more hard than good. My fourth tip is to pamper your ends.💚I mean when you are applying leave in conditioner or any product, take time to focus on your ends and the apply to the rest of your hair. This helps your ends get the nutrients they usually don’t get. If you don’t know what I mean, your scalp produces a natural oil called sebum. Straight hair is always oily because the sebum can easily travel straight down the hair shaft. With wavy, curly and coils hair the oil takes more time to go down the shaft. My last tip is to trim your ends. 💙Even if it’s only a couple centimeters, bad ends just keep breaking off. The best thing to do is trim them off and start fresh. Here is a curly girl chart to help you out as well. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

fayallure Is it weird that I haven’t gotten a trim the entire 6 years I’ve been natural? I only dust my ends off once in a blue moon & that seems to work out fine😭
mya_rose @fayallure That’s not weird at all. If you take care of your ends you won’t need to trim them. Its amazing that you haven’t needed one. I was just suggesting that if you have irregular breakage.
mya_rose @fayallure What colored heart do you use in your routine and what colored head would you like to add to it?
fayallure @mya_rose - ❤️🧡💛💚 & I don’t really care to add 💙 because dusting them is fine for me
mya_rose @fayallure Nice!
mya_rose Does anyone else want to share?
jdawg97 🧡💚💙 since sleeping with a satin bonnet at night and banding, my hair has improved tremendously . I do try to pamper my ends more when styling and I get a trim every 3 months. I don’t really protective style because I like to touch my hair too much lol
mya_rose @jdawg97 Cool
